LML Clothing by Halfwait Collaborates with Underground DJs for Wearable Music Experience

As the line between music and fashion continues to blur, LML Clothing by Halfwait is pushing the boundaries even further this time with a creative capsule that brings sound and style into perfect sync.

The independent streetwear label has announced an ongoing collaboration series with underground DJs and electronic producers, creating limited-edition apparel paired with exclusive original tracks.

Dubbed the “Wearable Music” initiative, the project aims to spotlight genre-defying artists and connect them with a fashion audience that values authenticity, self-expression, and cultural crossover.

Each capsule release is built around a shared aesthetic, minimalist visuals, underground energy, and music made to move you.

“We’ve always said LML is more than a clothing brand, it’s a culture,” says founder Jonathan Barca, who also fronts the alternative rock band Halfwait.

“This project lets us turn that culture into a sensory experience. You don’t just wear the look, you feel the sound.”

At the core of the initiative is a simple but powerful idea, use fashion to platform unheard voices in underground music, and use music to add emotional depth to minimalist streetwear.

The artists involved in the series, spanning drum and bass, electro house, industrial, and dark wave are handpicked by Barca and the LML team for their artistic edge, raw sound, and alignment with the brand’s emotional tone.

Each drop includes:

• Limited-edition streetwear garments: monochrome hoodies, oversized tees, and accessories featuring design elements inspired by the track’s rhythm, lyrics, or mood.

• Exclusive music release: a track or EP available through a private digital link, QR code embedded on the clothing label, or collectible card shipped with the garment.

• Visual identity package: unified aesthetic across product photography, audio visualisers, and look book shots to create a complete, immersive release.

The first wave of collaborations has already kicked off, featuring underground producers from Australia, Berlin, and the UK, each selected for their distinct sound and independent spirit.

Rather than relying on fame or follower count, LML focuses on creative energy and emotional resonance, giving artists a new kind of platform that combines fashion drops with music discovery.

“It’s not about hype. It’s about synergy,” says Barca.

“If the sound and the design speak the same language, it’s a drop.

That’s the only rule.”

The approach is refreshingly intentional in a fashion landscape driven by overexposure.

With LML’s “Wearable Music” capsules, exclusivity isn’t about artificial scarcity, it’s about emotional connection. Each piece is a physical artifact of a specific sonic world, released in small batches and never reprinted.

This model is also opening up new opportunities for both DJs and fans:

• DJs and producers gain exposure in fashion and design spaces, plus profit shares from capsule sales.

• LML fans and wholesale retailers receive product that’s not just fashion-forward, but culturally rich, turning every hoodie or tee into a story-backed, multi-dimensional piece.

“Our buyers love that there’s a deeper story behind the product,” notes Barca.

“When they stock our line, they’re not just selling a hoodie, they’re offering their customers something they can hear, wear, and feel.”

The project also ties into the growing presence of LML Records, the music platform founded by Barca alongside the clothing line.

Following the release of Live My Life Vol. 1, the record label will now act as an incubator for cross-medium releases, part label, part collab engine, and part cultural archive.

As the brand expands its wholesale reach internationally, the “Wearable Music” series offers something truly unique to retail partners, a story-driven collection format that’s rooted in underground energy and built for artistic longevity.
