Our Roots in Music: The Halfwait Legacy
LML Clothing by Halfwait was born from the creative vision of Jonathan Barca, whose journey as the lead vocalist and guitarist of the Sydney-based rock band Halfwait laid the foundation for our brand.
Since 2012, Halfwait has been a force in the entertainment industry, blending grunge, punk, and alternative rock with influences from The Offspring, Blink-182, and Nirvana.
The band released their debut album, The Official, and singles like “My Past” and “Live My Life” in November 2021, accompanied by official music videos premiered on VEVO via Vydia.
These releases, along with national tours and airplay on radio stations across the US, Europe, and Australia, solidified Halfwait’s global presence.
Jonathan’s experience designing band merchandise sparked his passion for fashion, leading to a pivotal collaboration with Los Angeles-based influencer platform Represent Merchandise.
This partnership, combined with Halfwait’s international reputation, provided Jonathan with a deep understanding of branding and community-building, which he channeled into founding LML Clothing by Halfwait in 2022.
The brand’s name, inspired by the single “Live My Life,” reflects its philosophy of authenticity, positivity, and self-expression.
