LML Records Launches with Genre-Defying Compilation “Live My Life Vol. 1
Emerging from the DIY legacy of alt-rock band Halfwait and fashion disruptor LML Clothing, this debut release signals a new multidisciplinary creative platform fusing underground music, minimalist fashion, and cultural rebellion.
Independent music label LML Records has officially launched with its first release: Live My Life Vol. 1, a hard-hitting, genre-bending compilation that brings together Drum and Bass, Electro House, and underground alternative energy.
The album marks a significant expansion of the creative universe built by Jonathan Barca, frontman of Australian alt-rock band Halfwait and founder of the minimalist streetwear label LML Clothing by Halfwait.
The 20-track release features emerging DJs, producers, and vocal collaborators across the global underground scene. But Live My Life Vol. 1 isn’t just a collection of club-ready tracks—it’s a mission statement.
The compilation embodies the same DIY spirit and cultural defiance that fuels both LML Records and its fashion counterpart, forming an umbrella movement that transcends genre and medium.
“This project is about turning creative survival into a cultural blueprint,” says Barca.
“Music and clothing were always how I processed the chaos, now they’ve become tools for building something real, something that doesn’t ask for permission.”
The project was born in the aftermath of a cancelled international tour in 2020, which led Barca to pour his energy into building a platform that could fuse the emotional impact of music with the visual power of design.
That evolution gave birth to LML Clothing by Halfwait, an anti-hype, minimalist streetwear label that channels raw emotional expression into wearable form.
LML Records is the audible extension of that same vision.
With Live My Life Vol. 1, LML Records invites listeners into a soundscape that blends emotional tension with explosive rhythm—ideal for late-night sets, headphone introspection, and warehouse energy.
Each track contributes to the evolving narrative of what it means to live your life on your own terms, which is the core ethos behind the “LML” moniker.
